Our Diary

Wedding and event planning is what we do, and we work hard to keep every event feeling fresh. We often are asked how we do that, and if were being honest, it’s really about digging deep and finding the personal details that can translate into elements that can elevate the guest experience.

Here’s a few of our favs:

  1. 1. Including the totally adorable children in a wedding always gets us. We love how this darling babe made it down the aisle in a beautiful carriage. We had the florist add floral to the carriage and a totally adorable flowergirl assisted. #allthefeels.

2. Don’t underestimate the power of the food that is served at your cocktail hour and reception. Food is such a major part of our lives and cultures, including food that part of the lifestyle of our couples and their families is one of the most impactful ways to elevate your guests experience.

3. Wedding Stationery not only sets the tone for an event, but can double as a stunning memory of the venue and the overall experience. Custom designed suites serve as a thread running through the event style, bringing everything full circle.

4. Properly used lighting not only extends the outdoor party into the wee hours of the evening, but it brings a magical ambiance. We love the way it transforms the evening and creates glow that just feels intimate.

5. Favors that double as a thank you note are always appreciated. We love incorporating these into the event design as the perfect finishing touch.

6. There is something momentous about the cake cutting… we love using the opportunity to create a stunningly beautiful design element that is such a statement. And of course, guests love a cake that tastes incredible.

7. Creative repurposing of “regular” elements, for example, place cards that double as wine tags surprise and delight guests.

9. Incorporating an unexpected element to space not only looks beautiful in photos, but positive and fun effect on the overall guest experience.

There’s no way we’re not going to talk about our favorite moments from the wedding watched around the world! Harry and Meghan, we see you and your understated elegance… AND your embrace of culture beyond the castle. Here’s our round up of favorite details, shared from non-other than BRIDES magazine, because of course they have had epic coverage of the wedding-both leading up to and during!

The whole day was just cinderella moments on repeat!
We’re major fans of ‘kids at weddings’ but Meghan’s pageboys really set the standard!
Let’s just all stop and take a minute for this floral design. #goals
Honestly, the ceremony was the sweetest, and filled with so many emotional moments. There’s something about this moment that gets us at every wedding – not just Harry and Meghan’s.
Ok, stop. #princessstatus.
THIS is the perfect example why splurging on floral statements is so important. It changes the ENTIRE wedding day story.
Rumor has it, Harry had something to do with her bouquet, and that made our hearts so happy. We’re really loving that every element of this wedding was so personal and had so much meaning.
(In case you wanted a closer look at that bouquet!)
We’re just going to stop here, this photo is everything a modern power couple should feel after such a magical wedding ceremony… and we’re so about it! Cheers to Meghan and Harry – we can’t wait to see you set more new lifestyle standards!

Every year, Bridal Fashion week comes around and we live vicariously through the bridal magazine’s social media + websites. This year, we’re doing more than just wishing we were sitting at the runways… we’ve gathered a few of our favorite gowns and matched them up with table linens available for real weddings. You’re welcome.

This pretty dress by Anne Barge came down the runway and we love that it’s a classic style that everyone can wear, AND it’s a gown perfect for every venue we love to work with.

We also think it would be beautiful with any event style:  super elegant, monochromatic, luxe, or modern and sleek.

When Vera Wang sent her gowns down the runway, we were a little blown away, a little on the edge of our virtual seats, and mostly excited to see the fresh and unique styles. The gowns might be a little too artistic for some, but we’re loving the creative flavor and we definitely love seeing the gowns used as inspiration for thinking outside the box when it comes to linens (we could totally see these used together).

We might be totally over the word “swoon”, but when Hayley Paige gowns come floating down the runway (or the aisle!), that’s exactly what we do. Every single design is always on point, and made to make a woman feel like a princess. We love the traditional with a twist elements that are incorporated into each style-it’s perfect for the bride that wants to feel like a bride, but isn’t afraid of a little adventure. That’s why we picked these linens to pair with this dress. It’s a perfect platform for some fun elements, and linens are such a great place to use interesting texture and color.

“Ballgowns are back”. We’re not sure they ever left, but we’re loving that they’re trending. We’ll take any ballgown, because it’s prime opportunity to elevate the elegance of the reception. These linens would be perfect with any reception that goes with a ballroom style gown.

We’re pretty jazzed about this: Embellishment is not going away. In fact it’s leaning more towards the larger side of things. We noticed plenty of gorgeous gowns with layers of larger  appliques and embellishments and we knew this was something that would translate well to tabletop. Whether you’re looking to use soft flowing fabrics to enhance your bridal vibe or embracing your inner extra with a “more is more” attitude when it comes to texture – we think you’ll be on the right path either way.

There’s so many stunning gowns that head down the runway every season and these are just a few of our favorites, and a perfect example of how you really can personalize your wedding style, simply with the linens you select. We can’t wait to help you discover your wedding day vision and design the perfect, unique wedding day.
