Our Diary

Cool weather, fuzzy textures, and beautiful events – oh my!

Although the 2018 wedding season is winding down, winter events deserve some love and attention, too; especially when it’s as stunning as Rebecca & Josh’s wedding at Kohl Mansion. We loved the details incorporated to celebrate the season, such as pashminas for guests to stay warm. Winter may not be considered peak entertaining season, but with frosted flowers and mood lighting, you will certainly have “all the feels” by the end of this post!

While bistro lights are traditionally used outdoors, we love bringing them inside for this intimate cocktail hour. With Kohl Mansion’s floor to ceiling windows and the lights strung above, it gave guests the outdoor vibes while staying warm and out of the chilly winter temperatures.

We just LOVE this linen from La Tavola. The velvet detail was perfect for this elegant winter wedding.

It has been an extremely event-full year, and as we ramp up to finish 2018 with a bang, we do want to take a moment to share what our lovely team has been up to recently. From Breast Cancer treatment-completion to team photo shoots and outings, we have so much to share! Here are a few of the highlights from the Amazáe team the last couple months.

1. Breast Cancer Walk – As you may know, our own Caitlin has been fighting breast cancer since February of this year. Well, in October our team gathered to celebrate the completion of her treatment! We participated in the Silicon Valley Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk to fundraise, bring awareness, and celebrate the lives of those who have been touched. Together with her team, we raised over $7k in funds supporting breast cancer research. Our team is unstoppable!

2. IMEX America – The team traveled to Las Vegas to attend this year’s IMEX America conference, and it did not disappoint! There were over 3,000 vendors from 150 different countries allowing us to see the latest and greatest in events and entertainment from across the globe. More to come from this incredible event!

3. Team Photoshoot – Every year our team takes photos for our holiday card sent out to clients and friendors. This year we worked with the incredible Carlie Statsky to capture our team’s true beauty at 4 Mile Beach in Santa Cruz. We felt so glamorous thanks to the Aimee Artistry team who did an amazing job on our hair and makeup. We can’t wait to see the photos and share our holiday card with everyone in a few weeks!

4. Mary Phan’s Book Launch – We spent an evening with Mary Phan at KIM + ONO in San Francisco, celebrating the launch of her new book, The Artful Sketch. This beautifully designed book teaches readers how to draw 15 artistic sketches with step-by-step guidance. We are so excited for Mary, and love seeing the book come to life!

5. Theoni Collection Pop-Up – A couple team members got the pleasure of visiting Carmel Valley Ranch for On the Road with Winnie: Bubbles, Brews, and Lite Bites. The pop-up featured Theoni Collection’s latest decor with a traveling show room on wheels named Winnie. Mixed textures, pops of color, and a fitting backdrop all came together for one lovely evening at the Ranch!

We appreciate all the design moments that go into an event but central to it all are the centerpieces and tabletop.

From selecting the perfect linens, to the china, flatware and table numbers it all must be coordinated with the floral design and of course, the space itself must be taken into consideration. It truly is a creative science. This week we’re reflecting on some of our favorite tabletop designs that have played important roles in our events and weddings.
