Our Diary

The digital world we live in has not only changed our daily lives, but it has also changed the way we plan for, produce, and remember major life events.

Hiring a professional videographer makes such a huge different in events. Whether you want to remember every little detail and subtle breeze from your wedding day, or you want to showcase perks to future employees and add to your company’s content library, videography is for you.

One videographer we love to work with in particular is David Ethridge of AVR Films.

Not only is David and his team talented and professional, but they are genuinely kind people making them such a pleasure to work with. We personally think their work speaks for itself…

AVR Films was established in 1986 and since then, founder David Ethridge has received 3 awards for his cinematic talents. They have been praised for their relaxed and low profile camera crew, their level of experience within the team as well as their extreme passion for their craft.

We have had the chance to work with AVR on many occasions and each time is better than the last. We are so grateful so talent like this in the event industry!

A note from the author: Not hiring a professional videographer is the number one regret I have from our wedding day, hands down. We have beautiful images, and I created my own video with clips from guests, but I can confidently say I dream of what our wedding video *could* have been regularly. I highly recommend considering budgeting for this.

This loving couple celebrated their commitment to one another with not one, but two, intimate ceremonies in two iconic San Francisco locations.

The first of the two was held at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts.

The couple thoughtfully incorporated cultural traditions to the ceremony.

A great time was had by all, and their love was simply infectious!

The Palace of Fine Arts provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding.

For the second ceremony, the couple went for a much more modern feel at yet another Bay Area icon, the San Francisco Mint.

The historic architecture and natural lighting made a stunning backdrop for the special day.

The bridal party wowed us all bringing their own unique style to the day.

But the guys certainly did not hold back either!

For this ceremony, we used greenery to bring life to the historic, white backdrop.

Candle light was used to add an extra layer of romance and intimacy.

It set the perfect scene for a wedding.

The couple added their own touches throughout the event, including a special bucket list book for guests to sign.

Once the ceremony concluded, guests made their way to the courtyard to find their seat for dinner.

The table details were absolutely beautiful.

The evening lighting really set the mood, making the scene even more breathtaking.

Another special touch was the transformation of the vault to include images of all their favorite memories together as well as their prior lives that eventually lead to each other.

The vault also made the perfect backdrop for the cake placement.

The couple had a great time dancing the night away with friends and family to the live band.

We are so grateful to be part of Maricel & Kenny’s special ceremonies, and we cannot wish them enough love, happiness, and fortune in their marriage.

Thank you to these amazing vendors for helping us make this possible!

The holiday season may be over, but hosting never stops in the life of an event planner.

So, as we gear up for another fun-filled year of events, we thought we’d share some of the most inspiring and original table settings we have had the chance to create over the years – in no particular order.

When you make it to the end, let us know your favorite(s)!

As usual, it all starts with the details…

But it doesn’t stop there! Placement seriously matters when creating the perfect tablescape.

Centerpieces are so much more than flowers and the possibilities are truly endless. Incorporating branded concepts into your centerpieces can really elevate your tablescape.

Or add real flowers to let guests get up close and personal with the design.

Height is another great way to add variety to a tablescape.

But of course, design does not stop at the table top…

Of course, florals and lighting aren’t the only ways to wow guests with a tabletop design.

Remember, it’s not just about what is happening at the actual tables, but beyond them as well.

And like most things in events, when it’s not about the big and bold; it’s all about the thought that went into the little details to make an event become a day to remember.
