Our Diary

In the age of present, we are learning many new ways to celebrate life as it continues on while we shelter in place.

We never thought we’d say, “we’ve gotten good at throwing virtual birthday parties,” but here we are.

It’s true! And you too, can continue to celebrate and throw parties while we each reside in our own homes. We’ve even broken the process down into a few simple steps.

Shall we get planning?

Step 1: Determine a guest list and pick a date

Confirm a time that works for the guest of honor as well as other important attendees across time zones. Set a date and specific time, considering a few minutes of cushion if this is a surprise event.

Step 2: Set up the virtual meeting

There are many options when it comes to telecommunications, but we use Zoom here at Amazáe Events.

Step 3: Pick a theme and send the invites

Once you have the time and guest list finalized, determine a fun theme to unify all guests within their individual spaces. Send out an invite clearly outlining all important details including how to join, if there is a theme, and any additional expectations.

Step 4: Send gifts, decor, and/or favors prior to virtual event

Bring the event to life by having physical items delivered to the guest of honor and attendees prior to the event. This is another way to promote the event, remind guests, engage and unify all attendees.

Step 5: Set up your space and get ready

Decorate your space as if the guest of honor (or guests) were coming to join you in person. Set up snacks or drinks as you would, hang a banner, play some tunes, and definitely dress for the occasion!

Step 6: Enjoy

Now, all that’s left to do is to sit back, log in, and enjoy!

We know many of us would rather get together, hug our friends, and celebrate by clinking together our glasses, but until then, we can continue to party in style, even virtually.

Need help planning a virtual event for an important milestone? We are here to help!

With Mother’s Day looking a little different this year, we are finding creative ways to continue the celebration honoring the strong moms out there .

We can still make the day special and let our mothers know how much they mean to us. Here are a few safe, and kind gestures to ensure mom still feels the love while sheltering in place:

Schedule a virtual brunch.

Even if you cannot see each other in person, you could coordinate the delivery of her favorite brunch foods and set up a virtual call for you two to enjoy the meal together. Some local caters are offering brunch menus like Cafe Primavera.

Write her a message in chalk.

I know my mom would love to wake up to artwork and messages created by her children and grandchildren. Why not decorate the entire driveway if you have the time and supplies? She deserves it!

Deliver a porch package.

This year, in light of circumstances, we’ve decided to offer porch packages with safe contact-free delivery for Mother’s Day. There are three options to choose from starting at $40, allowing mom’s to receive a special gift, safely at their doorstep. Contact Caitlin at [email protected] to discuss options and ordering.

Meet for a tailgate picnic.

Whether you park in the driveway, or meet at a park, you can safely keep your distance while still enjoying a meal and conversation in each other’s company.

Coordinate a drive-by parade.

Round up your mom’s children (and grandchildren) to drive by on Mother’s Day decorating the cars with loving messages. Wave, sing, play her favorite tunes, and toss flowers her way as you pass.

Purchase a gift card to her favorite restaurant.

Not only are you supporting a business she loves, but you two can have something to look forward to when you can get together again. Win-win!

Send her flowers.

We know this may seem a little traditional, or dare we say obvious, but we still think she’d greatly appreciate the delivery. Especially if you order from someone like, Apis Floral!

Take care of dinner.

Give her a relaxing evening with a special meal. You can cook her favorite homemade feast and drop it off or order take out from her favorite restaurant. Check out drink and meal kits from Silicon Valley Capital Club!

Let us know how you are celebrating Mother’s Day this year. We know she deserves it!

As mentioned in our most recent post, the events industry has been hit hard by COVID-19 and current events. While we are heartbroken for our clients and friendors who have had to postpone or cancel important events, we know this collective act to stay home and social distance is necessary, important, and for the greater good.

With that said, we are doing everything we can to offer our services, considering the current restrictions. Just because we cannot meet in person, does not mean we cannot continue to connect and celebrate life!

Here are a few ways the events industry is shifting to continue to offer services at this time:

1. Postponement plan activated – working with clients and vendors to begin the rescheduling process for all impacted events. Working quickly to clearly communicate options to clients who have been or may be affected to let them know they are on top of mind. We have services for our clients and beyond to help navigate this difficult process.

2. Virtual events and meetings – while we cannot currently meet in person, we can shift to accommodate online events, meetings, and conferences. There are so many opportunities to continue connect with individuals in the digital space, now and beyond COVID-19.

3. Party in a Box – to accompany the previous concept, consider ways engage guests and encourage them to attend by responsibly providing props beforehand. Providing hosts and attendees of a virtual event physical décor, gifts, and/or memorabilia brings the experience to life, beyond the screen. Need assistance? Contact us and we will be happy to help!

Many things have come to a pause, but life has not been canceled! We are so honored to continue to support you through life’s greatest celebrations, now and for years to come. We are always here for you!

A note to the fellow event industry companies who have been impacted – we feel for you. There is no way we could have ever predicted this when planning for 2020, but we encourage you to look beyond.
